Jammin' Jacks

This afternoon, we had a fundraiser for our school. Some local musicians (Maddy's teacher, Mr. Joe played!) and bands (like Truckstop Honeymoon) came and played on our campus. There were a few rides for the kiddos, lots of yummy food, and a one mile fun run to celebrate the life of a R. student, Jack, killed in an automobile accident in 2001. The weather was amazing and we all had such a great time... Kevin took this picture of Maddy's legs and I think it is hysterical...maybe I am just tired! :) A picture of the small Ferris wheel... Elly following Maddy into the Ferris wheel...
Up they go...
The girls got snow cones...
Maddy loved hers but Elly was more interested in daddy's chocolate waffle cone... The girls enjoyed feeding the catfish in R. pond... ...the catfish were happy, too. Elly hanging on the willow tree on the primary playground.
Sally the tortoise lives on the primary playground near R. pond. Maddy rode the train with two of her friends while Keith, one of the school's founders, drove. Keith drove the train all afternoon around R. pond and Mt. R. Elly and I sat near the back... The obstacle course. Climbing up the Titanic Slide...I think the girls enjoyed this the most! A better view of the Titanic Slide...pretty high, huh? Guess who loved it the most? Yep, Elly! Elly rode the Ferris wheel with her best friend, Reese. She got a hug from her while waiting in line. After the Ferris wheel, they did some jammin' to some music. Okay, they ran around in circles... ...and had a great time falling down! Elly was a muddy mess by the time we left!
Maddy showed us some tricks on the elementary playground.
Elly on the elementary playground. Elly playing with Charlotte, Jack's sister, who was born 2 days after Elly in August of 2005. Charlotte's big sister, Katherine, is a kindergartener in Elly's class.
Here is a flashback picture of Charlotte (on the left) and Elly (on the right) at Maddy's 4th birthday party. The baby girls slept the whole time while their big sisters celebrated. So sweet...
